Yahoo new logo unveils officially, redesigned after 18 years

Since the foundation of Yahoo 18 years ago, the company has recently redesigned its logo and unveils Yahoo new logo officially. The new logo unveiled late Wednesday and made live globally on all Yahoo properties.

The redesign of Yahoo’s logo work was started since the Google executive Marissa Mayer was hired as Yahoo’s CEO. Marissa Mayer has tried to recreate Yahoo with a fresh look and feel to gain traffic and public interest. It’s an effort to re-invent Yahoo’s to bring back its fame and glory. Yahoo previously held 30 days of the change campaign where everyday for that month, a new logo was posted. However, after kicking off 30 days of change, it has finally decided Yahoo new logo.

The new logo preserve some of the old logo features like purple color & iconic exclamation point as shown in the new logo.

According to Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer, the new logo doesn’t have any straight line because “straight lines don’t exist in the human form and are extremely rare in nature, so the human touch in the logo is that all the lines and forms all have at least a slight curve.” She also describes in her Tumblr post about the process followed during the development of Yahoo’s new logo.
